Levada an Improvement over Ratzinger
It may surprise some of you to learn that old Akron Al is happy to see that the Archbishop of San Francisco will be the new Prefect for the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith.
But how can this be? Archbishop William J. Levada of San Francisco did absolutely nothing to clean up his cesspool of an archdiocese. Just check out Bettnet today if you haven't heard enough about this guy. So how can I prefer Levada over the man who is now Pope?
The answer is simple. At least with Levada we know what we are getting.
Cardinal Ratzinger certainly talked a great game. But Clevelanders wrote thousands of letters to him, we sent countless e-mails to his office, we faxed, we prayed for him, we begged him, and we had priests personally talk to him.
And what did it get us here in the Diocese of Cleveland?
Absolutely nothing.

The Futurechurch national headquarters remains on Diocese of Cleveland property.
Diocese of Cleveland seminarians still study at John Carroll University - - a Jesuit school that actively promotes abortion and even refers female students to pro-abortion organizations. John Carroll University - - where its website proudly proclaims "The Vagina Monologues is congruent with the mission of John Carroll University."
So now, Cardinal Ratzinger is gone replaced by Archbishop Levade who permitted things in San Francisco that were nearly as bad as what goes on in Cleveland.
When Cardinal Ratzinger was at CDF we had hope. Because we had hope, we wasted countless hours, stamps, dollars and effort, mistakenly believing that if only Cardinal Ratzinger knew what was going on in Cleveland, he would do something. It was self-deception. Of course Cardinal Ratzinger knew, he just did not care.
With Archbishop Levada now in office, we have no hope. We will not waste countless hours, stamps, dollars and effort trying to inform him about the sacrileges going on in the Diocese of Cleveland. After all, most of these things went on in his own diocese.
